Every once in a while, I go back and read the reviews for Sting Away and find myself thinking the same thing:
These sound like testimonials from an As Seen on TV commercial.
You know the ones. Someone gets stung, someone else dramatically produces a bottle of something, and within 30 seconds everyone is smiling on a beach somewhere. All that's missing is the enthusiastic narrator saying, "But wait... there's more!"
Except these aren't actors. They're actual customers describing their experiences with Sting Away.
And some of these reviews are pretty remarkable.
One customer describes giving Sting Away to someone who had just been stung and was in considerable pain. Her review says that within minutes, the person was feeling relief. She now carries a bottle everywhere she goes when jellyfish might be present.
Another customer writes about years of beach trips to Pensacola, sharing Sting Away with people nearby whenever someone gets stung.
Another describes her niece getting stung at the Gulf and how the product immediately proved its value. She says she'll always keep it in her beach bag.
Then there's the review from a family living near the northeastern beaches, where jellyfish are apparently just an unavoidable part of life.

Here’s the TLDR: The reviewer describes keeping Sting Away in their beach kit, using it on their children, comparing it to the various sting remedies they'd tried over the years, and eventually taking it snorkeling in St. Lucia. After encountering a jellyfish nest while diving, they describe reaching for their Sting Away kit and having no interest in going back to the alternatives.
The best part? Their kids apparently became so attached to the product that when the family ran out, they complained about the replacement sting relief swabs and checked the mail every day waiting for their new bottle to arrive.
I mean, come on. Even the kids are writing the testimonials at this point.
And these are just a handful of the reviews. What’s hilarious is that we’ve been making and selling Sting Away for so long successfully I haven’t even added any reviews to the product pages before! I think I’ll do that now LOL.
What I particularly enjoy is that so many customers describe the same thing: they buy a bottle, use it when somebody gets stung, and then make sure they never head back to the beach without it.
That's really what we hoped Sting Away would become.
We didn't set out to make another beach accessory that gets thrown into a drawer after vacation. We wanted something people would actually keep in their beach bags, first-aid kits, boats, tackle boxes, and travel bags. Something they'd remember to bring because they'd already learned why it was worth having around.
Jellyfish are a pretty unavoidable part of spending time in the ocean. And while you can't always avoid an encounter, you can at least be prepared.
We're a small business, and seeing people take the time to write reviews like these means a lot. We make Sting Away because we believe in having practical solutions to the little (and sometimes not-so-little) problems that come with enjoying the outdoors.
So keep the reviews coming. We read every one of them.

Just don't be surprised if the reviews sound a little like an infomercial.
Apparently, we're not the only ones who think this stuff deserves a spot in the beach bag.
